Tour de Palm Springs?
Anyone ever done this ride? I'm thinking about doing my 2nd century ride, and this sounds like it might be a good one. The timing works for me, and I might have in-laws there in Feb., so I'd have a place to stay! Sould I start hitting the trainer at work? Well it doesn't sound all that bad to me! I am just a weekend warrior so maybe I don't take it quite as serious as everyone else does but I do dig it! It is just one of the many great Things to do in Palm Springs! I wish I could ride everyday but I have the four letter word (W-O-R-K) that kind of gets in the way. Anyway... Ride on and Stay Safe! Art, I've done the 50 and the century twice. It's a fairly easy ride, maybe not as easy as the other one we did,but still not to hard. The roads aren't the best as they are somewhat chewed up and your Motobecane might make it a little hard on your arms, but it's definately an easy enough one. I was going to skip this coming year because I rode it last year by myself. I saw some others I knew but I wanted to ride it faster then they did and I went off by myself. I finished in just under 6 hours. Worst part about the whole thing, was I took my wife and do you know how much money a women can spend in Palm Springs when she has about 4 free hours with nothing to do but shop? I do the Butterfield double century the week after this ride. Come on and try that one.;-) Posted by Pain Freak riding a Surly Turner from The 909 on 12/24/05

A bunch of us just registered for the Wildflower Century up in Paso Robles. Why not join us? It might give you more time to train. Palm Springs just sounds so damn flat to me. Posted by Endo Verendo a 38 year old riding a Turner Flux from The Valley on 01/02/06

Wildflower sounds like a good one. I already do two rides a year usually in that area (Solvang Century and Double), but I might just do another. Posted by Pain Freak riding a Surly Turner from The 909 on 01/04/06

I'd skip it. The roads are in terrible condition in PS and it isn't that interesting or challenging. Plus, my friend never received the jersey he paid for. Posted by MERider a 35 year old Die-hard Enthusiast riding a Trek from Sherman Oaks on 01/24/06

I would love to take part in the Tour Palm Springs. Is anyone interested in doing something the second weekend of October? Posted by Debbieboren a 33 year old Weekend Warrior riding a Kona from Burbank on 08/31/09
